New here? 5 things you should know about Prelect
Updated: Sep 4
The energy industry is changing fast. Electrification is accelerating, grid capacity is becoming a bottleneck, and companies are being asked to do more with the infrastructure they already have.
That is why we built Prelect.
If you are new to the company, here are five things worth knowing.
1. We connect energy assets into one intelligent system
Most electrification projects do not fail because of a lack of hardware. They struggle because of a lack of coordination.
EV chargers, batteries, solar assets, buildings, and grid connections are often managed by separate systems that do not communicate with each other. The result is unused capacity, unnecessary costs, operational complexity, and delayed projects.
Prelect brings these assets together in one intelligent platform. We help customers use available capacity more efficiently, automate energy decisions, and unlock more value from the infrastructure they already have.
In short, we help green infrastructure outperform fossil alternatives.

2. We help customers get more out of limited grid capacity
Across Europe, the challenge is becoming increasingly clear: the biggest obstacle to electrification is no longer the technology itself. It is access to power.
Grid constraints are delaying everything from EV charging projects and logistics hubs to industrial sites and commercial developments. Waiting years for grid upgrades is rarely a realistic or attractive option.
That is why Prelect focuses on helping customers do more with the capacity they already have. Through intelligent energy management, load management, demand response, and site optimization, we enable customers to move faster without waiting for major infrastructure upgrades.
This is a theme we have seen repeatedly in projects with companies such as Fagne, Uno-X, and several commercial electrification initiatives.
3. We are growing fast alongside ambitious customers and partners
The past year has brought strong momentum.
We have welcomed new customers, expanded strategic partnerships, and delivered projects across charging infrastructure, flexibility, marinas, and grid innovation. Recent collaborations include PSW, Uno-X, Fagne, Evver Brix, Caverion, and Capture Energy.
One milestone we are particularly proud of comes from a large-scale EV charging rollout, where the first 100 charging sites are now operating with Prelect’s load management system.
This deployment shows how intelligent, software-defined energy management can help charging networks scale efficiently, operate within grid constraints, and prepare for future flexibility requirements.
For us, growth is not measured only in software deployments. It is measured by the impact our customers create in the field.
4. We are a small team by design
Some companies scale headcount first and build culture later. We have taken a different approach.
Today, Prelect is a team of around 30 people, combining expertise in software development, hardware, AI, electrification, and flexibility markets.
Our team includes people who have built software platforms, developed intelligent control systems, delivered large-scale electrification projects, worked closely with grid operators, and helped bring new energy technologies and flexibility solutions to market.
Being a team of 30 gives us a real advantage. We are large enough to take on complex challenges and ambitious projects, yet small enough to move quickly.
Decisions happen fast. Customer feedback reaches the product team directly. Everyone is close to both the technology and the customer.
In an industry moving as quickly as energy and electrification, speed matters. We have built a company that can adapt, execute, and deliver without the layers and complexity that often slow larger organizations down.
5. We are building a Norwegian export story
Prelect may be a young company, but we are building on decades of electrification experience.
Through our connection to Eviny and Norway’s position as one of the world’s most electrified energy systems, we have had the opportunity to learn from challenges many other countries are only beginning to face.
Now those same challenges are emerging across Europe: grid congestion, energy flexibility, large-scale charging, and smarter use of distributed energy resources.
The solutions being developed in Norway are becoming increasingly relevant internationally.
Our ambition is clear: to take technology developed for one of the world’s most advanced electrification markets and use it to accelerate electrification far beyond Norway’s borders.
Prelect exists because electrification needs to move faster — and smarter. We believe the next phase of the energy transition will not be won by adding more infrastructure alone, but by making existing infrastructure work harder, coordinate better, and create more value.
That is the challenge Prelect is here to solve.
